Grief Support

Welcome to Grief Support with Dr. Michael Catlett

About the Sessions:

Grief is a challenging journey, and finding support during these times can make all the difference. I offer four session groups once a quarter, providing a safe space for individuals to share their experiences and receive mutual support. Please note that the schedule for these sessions is not fixed and may vary according to my travel and availability. Currently, we hold our sessions via Zoom, but we have also conducted in-person groups in the past. The group size typically ranges from 4 to 12 people, ensuring a comfortable and intimate setting.

What to Expect:

During these sessions, I focus on discussing cognitive, physical, and emotional aspects of grief. While I don’t follow a strict curriculum, I draw from my wealth of experience in this field. As a former pastor with over thirty years of experience and a PhD in the Old Testament, I provide a unique perspective on grief and its complexities. It’s essential to understand that I am not a licensed professional counselor, and I make this clear to all participants. However, my extensive experience allows me to offer valuable insights and support to those navigating the challenges of grief.

Individual Support:

In addition to the group sessions, I am available for one-on-one meetings with individuals who have specific needs or struggles related to grief. These personalized sessions provide a confidential space for deeper exploration and support tailored to individual requirements.

Respect for Diverse Beliefs:

I want to emphasize that I have no desire to convert or indoctrinate anyone participating in these sessions. My primary goal is to provide a supportive environment for all individuals, regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds. Mutual respect and understanding are paramount in our grief support community.

Long-term Connection:

In some cases, the support groups may choose to continue their connection beyond the sessions. This decision is entirely up to the participants, and it allows for ongoing support and camaraderie during the grieving process.

Funeral Services:

As part of my involvement with Money & King, I have been leading 20-30 funeral services annually for the past decade. This experience has deepened my understanding of grief, and I bring this compassion and knowledge to our support sessions.

If you are seeking understanding, empathy, and a safe space to share your grief journey, I welcome you to join our support sessions. Please feel free to reach out to me for more information or to schedule an appointment. Remember, you are not alone in your grief, and together, we can find solace and strength during these difficult times.
