Anne Elise Fox Bisset, age 92, of Arlington, Virginia, passed away on April 30, 2018. Anne was born on February 10, 1926, in Washington, DC to James Hansford Fox and Sadie Keller Fox. She grew up in Arlington, Virginia and graduated from Washington-Lee High School in 1944. After graduation she worked for the US Department of Agriculture and also studied art.

On July 4, 1946, she met Thomas Richard “Dick” Bisset at the Chesapeake Bay resort, Beverly Beach. They were married on February 2, 1947, at the First Baptist Church of Clarendon in Arlington, Virginia where Anne had been a member since cradle roll.

Throughout her life, Anne’s artistic talents were reflected in her many hobbies, including fashion design, home decorating, and gardening. She also enjoyed a 20-year career at the US Geological Survey.

Anne is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years, Thomas Richard Bisset; and sister Nancy Fox Gilmore. Anne is survived by her daughter Selena Suzanne Marie Bisset Carpenter Fox and her husband Dennis Carpenter; daughter Sandra Lee Bisset and her husband Harvey; and daughter Brenda Jane Bisset. Additionally, she is survived by five grandchildren: Richard, Melanie, Lisa, Jennifer, and Jason; five great-grandchildren: Adrian, Elizabeth, Sadie, Rebecca, and Julia; her brother Rev. James H. Fox, Jr.; her sister Peggy Fox Matthews; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral will be held on Friday, May 4, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 711 Spring Street, Vienna, VA. A visitation will begin at 11:30am in the Fellowship Hall, with light refreshments served. The funeral service will follow immediately in the Sanctuary at 12:30pm. The service will be followed by burial at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Arrangements by Money & King Funeral Home, Vienna.
