Jeannette Cacciapaglia Linza passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax County, Va.

She was born in Staunton, Va on January 20, 1939 to Joseph and Vita Cacciapaglia.

She attended St. Francis Grade School and Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton and

later went on to earn degrees from the College of Notre Dame, The University of

Virginia and The University of Salamanca in Spain.

Jeannette taught foreign languages (Spanish, Italian) for 36 years; starting in 1963 at

of Caroline Virginia Linza and James Foxx Linza, both of Vienna, Va.

In keeping with her humble nature, she has requested that there be no viewing, wanting

only a Mass of remembrance at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church,

8601 Wolftrap Rd., Vienna, Va on Thursday, July 27th at 11:00 AM. Jeannette will be

interred in the Columbarium at St. Mark Catholic Church in Vienna, Va.

Guestbook

  1. I can still hear her correcting my pronunciation through the ALM Language Lab. She was a wonderful teacher.

  2. Jeanette will be missed …she bravely walked the neighborhood in all kinds of weather. This year I have a single pink Cliome plant in my garden from seeds she gave me from her own beautiful garden. Our condolences to her cherished family. Pat and Yvonne Frank

  3. Jeannette is easily one of my favorite teachers and a friend. I will miss her greatly. Always positive and in a great mood, Jeannette’s smile and sense of humor truly brought much joy to many. I love her and she will truly be missed by so many

  4. Mrs Linza was my Spanish teacher at Madion HS in 1983 and was a tough teacher but sneaky funny and incredibly compassionate. I was a better person for having been her student. God bless, Mrs Linza and to the whole Linza family.
