Guestbook

  1. Joan was a part of my organisation for the past 12 years. She was a professional in every way, and was loved and respected by work colleagues and friends alike for her many qualities. We shared many laughs together and swapped receipes. Her love of cooking and entertaining and giving made her so happy. We will miss you Joan. Marilyn Butler Ventura Media

  2. Joan was my business partner for 14 years. I worked the West Coast and she worked the East Coast.
We worked with Defense News Group (C4ISR, TSJ, Armed Forces Journal) and then later with
Air & Cosmos, Aerospace America and Ventura Media. She was my rock. She could talk me off the ledge like no one else. We relied on each other, helped each other. Went through good times and not so good times. My favorite thing about Joan was how much she loved and valued her friends. She was always helping others. She always there when people were in trouble or needed a hand. I know that her mom and Kendall joyously welcomed her into heaven last Monday.

  3. Will always remember Joan’s laughter and her love for Robbie and Shelly. Our tea party ladies will miss her cheerful presence. May she rest in peace.

  4. Joan was first my colleague, beginning in 1984, then shortly afterwards became my friend. I loved seeing her at sales meetings and trade shows, entertaining clients together, sharing laughs and ideas. We saw each other less frequently when we both moved on to other employment, but kept in touch nearly every month by long phone calls. Joan was kind, smart, and funny, and I will so miss talking with her. Hope someday I see you in heaven again.

  5. Joan in High School and than at family parties, Christmas and Thanksgiving before she moved to Virginia

  6. I have only fond memories of Joan as a kind and compassionate person who was not only a neighbor, but a friend. She helped me feel welcome to the Council CT neighborhood from day one, about six years ago when I moved in next door. She was always kind to me and my daughter as well as my parents whenever they visited during the summer months. Often, she would stop by to share something that she had cooked or vegetables that she had picked from her garden. We did not speak politics; but, after the results of the last presidential election, she had made sure to call me (I am a first-generation immigrant American of Bangladeshi origin) to let me know the she did not stand for the xenophobic rhetoric – I was very moved by that unsolicited gesture of thoughtfulness and caring. She has taught me a lot through her actions of kindness. I pray that she rests in peace and I pray that her friends, family and loved ones have the strength to deal with her loss. May god bless her kind soul.

  7. Joan was a great neighbor and friend. Shared many evenings on my patio with a glass of wine..She was a wonderful daughter who put many years of her life on hold to care for her mother and was very devoted to her. She was always willing to give to anyone who needed something. Lou and Karen will miss you.

  8. Missing Joan so much. She was a long time friend who left us all too soon.
I want to hear her laugh again and get a call from her to tell me what was going on with Robbie & Shelley, and many many other things.

  9. I am so sorry for your loss and pray that God give you peace and hope. Jesus told us in John 11:23, 24 that there would be a resurrection of the dead back to life. Revelation chapter 20 speaks of this and in chapter 21, the first 4 verses in the Catholic Douay Bible, describe a home for them and their families this way: ” And I saw a new heaven and a new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth was gone, and the sea is now no more. And I John saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice from the throne, saying: Behold the tabernacle of God with men, and he will dwell with them. And they shall be his people; and God himself with them shall be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and death shall be no more, nor mourning, nor crying, nor sorrow shall be any more, for the former things are passed away”. This describes a home on the earth, where God dwells with MEN. Death, sorrow, suffering, gone;; things that were never in heaven. Think of her, your family and all the people you loved and the ones they loved back as a happy family living in peace. I hope this helps a little. Call me or text me if you like. 10. Joan was one of the most kind, considerate and loving people I’ve known, and I still can’t believe she’s gone.

  11. I’ve only known Joan a few years. I met her through the PVSC. I had come up for an event and when she found out that I drove all the way up from NC she opened up her house so I wouldn’t have to stay in a hotel. I always teased that she was my bed & breakfast. She enjoyed cooking and would always make sure that I left with food she was kind and generous. Robbie and Shelley were her world,, I do hope her family posts pictures from time to time. I miss you my friend. It’s not goodbye just until I see you again.

  12. It is with a heavy heart that I write this. Joan was one of my closest friends for almost 40 years. We were confidantes, sharing many of life’s ups and downs over a long and cherished friendship.. She was one of the kindest, generous, most trustworthy people I have ever met . We had plans to be “old biddies” together. I am heartbroken that those plans will never come to fruition. Joan always said that her friends were her family, and she certainly made me feel that way. My condolences to her family, her many friends, and of course her beloved Robbie and Shelly.

  13. Joanie I will always love you. As pathetic of a friend I was, I always considered you one of my best friends, a lifelong friend, since we were kids. I’m so sorry Joanie. Rest In Peace my friend. I never have and never will forget you. Now you can be with Blanche and Frank. Tell them I said hello. All my love. My heart is broken. Tara Lee Ann Marie.
