Lorrie Michele Parson
April 25, 1951 ~ January 2, 2018
Lorrie Michele Parson, age 66, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 2nd after a valiant battle with lung cancer. She was born April 25th, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York to Bernard Robert Ludin and Beverly Wishengrad Ludin and was the oldest of 2 children.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Scott Parson; brother Joel Scott Yudin; sons Michael and Daniel Filler; daughters-in-law Jaime and Amanda Filler; and grandchildren Jackson, Aiden and Brayden Filler.
After graduating from Bethpage High School, Lorrie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at American University in 1973. After teaching preschool, she focused her attention on her children as a stay at-home mother. She later turned her passion for travel into a career, founding The Travel Experience, a boutique travel agency, out of her home, in 1992.
Lorrie loved Jesus, traveling around the globe (having visited over 115 countries), partaking in the arts and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an active member in her church community, where she met her husband whom she wed on June 19th, 2010, and was a founding member of Christ Church Vienna.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5th at 10:30AM at Vienna Baptist Church, 541 Marshall Road, SW, Vienna, VA. She will be laid to rest at Fairfax Memorial Park. The Parson and Filler families would like to extend their gratitude to family, friends, as well as the staff of INOVA Fairfax Hospital, Capital Caring, and Lifematters. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Church Vienna or the American Cancer Society.

Sending love to Ron, Lorrie’s sons, family, and grandchildren. She wasn’t shy sharing the love she had for you. I am so happy and proud to have had such a beautiful friend. May God’s peace and love be palpable during this time of unimaginable loss.
Lorrie was one of those people who knew instinctively how to be a good friend. I loved to talk to her about her travels and tell her all the juicy gossip I got from the Senate. We were planning on going to our 50th high school reunion together, something that will regretfully will not happen. I will miss her very much.
Lorrie was simply an angel who shared Gods love with me and the world.
Rest in Peace.
Lorrie Filler was truly an angel who touched many lives with her extraordinary gifts.
She was a both a passionate global traveler and a compassionate global citizen.
