Ryan Michael Kociolek, age 44, of Fairfax, VA passed away on Thursday February 8, 2018 peacefully at home with his family. Beloved husband of Kristen Kociolek; loving father of Caroline and Andrew Kociolek; son of Peter and Janet Kociolek; and brother of Peter Kociolek, Jr., and David Kociolek. Relatives and friends are invited to Ryan’s visitation at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 West Maple Avenue, Vienna, VA on Monday February 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Road, Vienna, VA on Tuesday February 13 at 12p.m. Interment to follow at Fairfax Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Ryan’s honor. Dear Sweet Ryan,
Our hearts are broken. I never thought that you would not pull through this, as you told me, a challenge of a lifetime. I know how hard you fought Ryan but I know you are no longer in pain and are at peace. We will always keep you in our hearts and will never forgot you Ryan and as I told you many times during these past few months I will never give up on you and I never will! You were so strong Ryan in your faith and you had such a positive attitude but GOD has other plans for you now.
Caroline and Andrew, I am so sorry your Dad is no longer here with you , but your Dad loves you both very much and you were so fortunate to have him as your Dad. He was the best and you now have a very special Angel watching over you from Heaven and he will be by your side every day.
GOD Bless you Ryan and rest in peace. We will meet again someday.

I was so sorry to hear of Ryan’s passing, he was always such a kind and loving person. God takes light from this world and we will never understand why, and Ryan will always be in my families prayers.

We were saddened by the news of Ryan’s passing after his battle with cancer. Our memories of him at the Volkert picnics and parties are vivid in our minds as he always had a smile on his face and seemed to enjoy the interactions with so many relatives. Our sincere sympathy goes out to Kristen, Caroline, Andrew and your family now and in the days that lie ahead. Rest in peace, Ryan.

My deepest condolences are with all of you. I attended Bishop McDevitt with Ryan and had the privilege of being on stage with him for many of the drama club performances. His kind and gentle demeanor made a nerve racking opening night so much easier and more fun. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. He was a wonderful teenager whom I’ve no doubt was a wonderful man. I’m so sorry. My prayers are with you.

I had the privilege of working with Ryan when we established the Department of Homeland Security. He stood out during our years of service because of his kindness and humor during a period of significant stress and challenge. Always willing to help and never one to complain, Ryan will be missed. I just learned of Ryan’s passing today. I knew Ryan in college and have such fun memories of him. He was always the life of the party. My deepest sympathies to his friends and family.
