Susan Theresa Malisek Reardon

Beloved wife of Captain Kevin J. Reardon, USN (Ret.) passed into the hands of God on August 14, 2017. She graduated from Trinity College Washington in 1968 and married the love of her life in February 1969. Together, they went wherever the Navy Submarine Force needed them from coast to coast for 26 years. She was the totally devoted and immensely proud mother of Commander Brian Philip Reardon, USN and Meghan Kelley Reardon Smith, both graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy like their father. Susan earned her Master of Arts in Education from San Jose State College and was a highly accomplished and admired teacher of elementary and college students for 25 years, most recently for 17 years at Holy Spirit School in Annandale, VA.

Susan was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Anthony Joseph Malisek and Cecilia Mary Filip in March, 1946. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her loving sisters, Celine and Christine (Richard). Her son Brian and Michelle gave her the priceless gifts of three loving grandchildren Elizabeth, Timothy and Matthew. Her daughter Meghan and Christopher provided the equally precious gifts of grandchildren Patrick and Riley. Susan delighted in all the members of her family; she was deeply loved and memories of her kindness, devotion and unwavering Catholic faith will be treasured forever.

Family will receive friends 6-8 PM on Friday, August 18 at Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna, VA. A Mass of Christian Resurrection will be celebrated for Susan at 11 AM on Saturday at St. Mark Catholic Church in Vienna. Interment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Academy of Our Lady of Mercy (www.lauraltonhall.org).
