Alfonsina C. White

Alfonsina C. "Funzy" White died on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at her home in McLean, Virginia. She lived an undisclosed number of years!
Born and raised in New Canaan, she was the daughter of the late Vincent "Papa" Colaluca and Adelina "Meme"Ventre Colaluca. She chose to raise her own family in New Canaan and was active with her friends, loved playing tennis and bridge and volunteered at her children's schools and St. Joseph's. She was a long time parishioner at St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
She moved to the Washington, DC area in the late 80's to be close to her family and grandchildren who were in that area. While in the DC area she was very active with her family and grandchildren, loved to follow and talk current events and politics and was always up for a good debate. She also liked to use and stay on top of the latest technologies. Dedicated to her church and work, she served as a long time business manager at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church in Alexandria, Virginia. She was a parishioner at St. John Catholic Church in McLean, Virginia.
Mrs. White is survived by three children, Wendy Haig of Dunn Loring, Virginia, Lynn Shildmyer of St. Louis, Missouri and David White of Fairfield, Connecticut; a brother, Joseph "Pepe" Colaluca of Nevada; seven grandchildren, Alex Haig, Christopher Haig, Billy Haig, Peter Haig, Amy Sherrell, Sarah Duncan and Christy Gay and one great grandson, Cameron Gay.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfonso Colaluca and Chester Colaluca and a sister, Angelina Colaluca Kamiski.
