Alice Alger Gapp (age 99)
On Sunday, January 3, 2016. Loving wife of the late Francis W. Gapp and devoted
mother of David A. Gapp (wife Pearl), Marjorie S. Gapp (husband Gregory Tobias),
and Virginia G. Powers (husband Paul DeBlois). She is also survived by
grandchildren I. Wesley Gapp, Sarah M. Gapp and William R. Tobias-Gapp and
great-grandchild Ren S. Tobias-Gapp Akasaki. A memorial service will be held at
Lewinsville Presbyterian Church 1724 Chain Bridge Rd, McLean VA 22101 on Monday,
January 11th @ 2:00pm. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lewinsville Foundation.

Marjie, we were very. very sorry to discover your mother’s death notice in the newspaper this morning. Please accept our condolences–losing your mom is such a sad business, no matter how braced for it you may think you are. You and your family have our sincerest sympathy. It was a privilege to serve with Alice for many years in Presbyterian Women. Her soft-spoken, but firm, words encouraged others. She and Frank were faithful, active members of Lewinsville Church. I have a small piece of her pottery and a piece of needlework with her initials which I will cherish in her memory.
