Alice Whitman Ziplow
September 20, 1926 ~ April 7, 2023
Alice was born in rural Maine. She and her older sister were adopted by Katherine and Fremont Whitman. She received her RN diploma from Eastern Maine General Hospital under the Cadet Nurse program during WWII.
She married William Ziplow in 1948. They rnjoyed vacations especially to Puerto Rico and Hawaii. In the 1960's , she worked in the newborn nursery at Fairfax Hospital.. Later she worked as the phone nurse at the Falls Church Medical Center until retirement.
She loved cats and doing needlepoint. Mystery novels were a favorite and she loved playing bridge weekly.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith and grandsons, Rick, Bill and Paul. also Janette, Katie and Richline and 7 beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Matt, Elizabeth, Ben, Aubrey, Lucas and Sarah. Afavorite charity was Guide Dogs of America.
