  1. JEAN WAS A GREAT FRIEND. WE ENJOYED TENNIS, BRIDGE, AND A LITTLE GOLF TOGETHER. I SAY A LITTLE GOLF BECAUSE JEAN WAS A GOOD GOLFER, WHO ATTENDED A GOLF SCHOOL IN N.C. WITH ME. UNFORTUNATELY IT DIDN’T TAKE FOR ME, BUT JACQUE AND I ENJOYED THE WEEK WITH JEAN AND JUNE. JEAN AND I PLAYED IN ONE NATIONAL TENNIS MATCH AND WE WON.I’LL MISS HIM AND HIS STORIES. WITH GREAT MEMORIES BUD

  2. We will miss talking with Gene about Toronto. I will miss being his “runner” when playing tennis. We will both miss him at bridge. He was truly a great guy.

  3. Shirley and I are very sorry for your loss, your father always had a kind word whenever we would see him out or at the club. He will be missed.

  4. It was my pleasure to have met Mr. Houpert eight years ago at Manor Country Club. Seeing and chatting with him at the Club, hearing about his family and grandchildren, his travels, and his family’s history was something I enjoyed very much. I will miss him, as will the entire Manor Country Club Community. With my thoughts, Susan Pelletier, Manor Country Club Controller

  5. Bill and I will both miss your Dad. He was one amazing guy. Always smiling, always fun to hang with, Jean was obviously much loved by his wonderful family. With deepest condolences, love and affection for you, Mary, Maile and Andy, and for all the grand and great grandchildren . . .

  6. All of us are so grateful to have known both Gene and June, and to have been a part of the Houpert family. I know I speak for Uncle John and the rest of the Sapienza/Walker family that we each will greatly cherish the many and lovely memories. My prayers and thoughts to you all. Tina, Sarah, Erin, and John Sapienza

  7. I miss Jean on the tennis court, at the golf course and the bridge table. He was always a joy with a story to tell. Jean and June were two of the nicest people we have known. Our condolences to the family

  8. Jean was a wonderful man and great friend. We treasure the memories of Jean and the Houpert family.

  9. We did not know Gene but probably saw him on occasion at Manor Country Club. Sorry for your loss, Sincere condolences to the family.

  10. I was very sorry to hear about your Dad. I will miss seeing him puttering around the yard. I have fond memories of babysitting for Mary and Maile (300 years ago). My best to all of the family. Mary G.

  11. Jean and his beloved wife June have been a significant part o my whole adutlife, our lives so intertwined since our young days together on 40th Street. Jean, though we haven’t seen each other frequently in recent years, a big hunk of my life is lost with you gone. I will miss you and June each remaining day of my life.

  12. We are so very sorry for Jean & June’s children & grandchildren, but are glad that J & J had such good, long lives. Jean & June were beautiful, kind, caring & giving people. We kept in touch mostly by phone over the recent years & wish we had seen more of them both. Montgomery County is a better place because Team Houpert took their civic responsibilities seriously. We are all in their debt. with love, Dave & Nancy Scull
