Mom, I hope you are enjoying being with Dad again. I am so happy that your body no longer hurts and you no longer have to take all those medications. I keep wanting to call you, only to remember you are no longer here. You are missed by so many here. I love you and miss you.

Ann W. Dingman of Vienna, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Inova Fairfax Hospital at age 91. She was born February 22, 1935, in Washington, D.C., the daughter of Ernest and Ann Wade.
Ann was well known for her heavenly coloratura soprano singing voice. She began recording records at about age 10 and later auditioned for and was accepted into the Metropolitan Opera Company. About this time, she also did some modeling and was invited to sing on the Paul Whiteman Presents show on the radio. Unexpectedly, before she was able to give her Met debut, she fell in love with one Richard (Dick) Briggs Dingman, an up and coming First Lt. in the Army Reserves. It was at this time she decided it would be too much to pursue a professional singing career while attempting to also be a fully devoted wife and mother. She never went back to the Met!
Ann finally began her new life as a bride on February 9, 1957, following a delay while Dick served a military deployment in South Korea. She continued to sing at church and at other special events over the years. Her rendition of “O, Holy Night” was a favorite for all who were blessed to hear it. She was a behind-the-scenes type of person and served in the Vienna Woman’s Club for many years. The Club took on and spent numerous hours restoring the Freeman House, to what it is today. She was also devoted to her family, and to her Lord, Jesus Christ. She excelled in all aspects of cooking, baking, sewing, entertaining, helping others, and so much more. She was such a talented lady and loved by all who knew her. She also loved traveling the world with Dick from time to time, including traveling to see her grand and great grandchildren, in whom she took great delight and joy!
Ann will be sadly missed by her son, Mark (Teri) Dingman of Springfield, Illinois; her son, Jeff (Lori) Dingman of Georgetown, Delaware, her daughter, Linda (Jeff) Kaminsky of Burke, Virginia, her daughter, Patty (Jim) Spencer of Springfield, Virginia; and grandchildren, Josh Hill (Jesse), Robbie Hill (Carolina), Bryan Hill (Maidelyn), Brittany Baugh (John), Jeremy Dingman (Melissa), Jon Dingman, Anne Dingman, Joshua Dingman (Cait), James Spencer, Tori Ailstock (Mason), and her “adopted” grandchildren, Jennifer Hyunh (Tony), and Sam Flinkfelt (Sarah). She is survived by 18 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Wade, and her mother, Ann Wade.
