  4. Cookie – you will be surely missed!! You always made me feel like a part of your family and that was very special to me. Thanks for being so supportive of Josephine, coming to see her play recently – that was awesome! I’m so happy that you finally got to meet Paul, I knew he would get a kick out of you!! Your wonderful sense of humor and contagious laugh always made us smile and join you laughing!! Rest in peace and know that Louis and Sherri have lots of family and friends that love and support them.

  5. My parents had some of their happiest times with you guys. Cookie was the coolest lady I knew as a kid.. Kenneth Carlson

  6. This is to the funniest, kindest, dearest, most wonderful woman I know. Cookie, you are a terrific wife to Louis as we all know. You are a caring mother to Sherri, great sister and a terrific friend. Any one who was blessed with one moment of your time knows that they once stood in the presence of a pure dynamo. My Louis loves you, of course, because you are the real deal. Where else can he find his Italian heritage in stodgy Washington? Kevin loves your name – a cookie zone. I can not imagine walking into the front doors of SAIC and not planning on seeing Cookie. I will be on the look out for you in the cafeteria. I will not celebrate an SAIC holiday party without you, Cookie. And where will I go to get a little snack and a small bit of conversation to energize me late in the day so I can work a while longer. Who will get the “old girls” together for a Maggiano’s dinner and who will give me small Christmas candles in little red Christmas stocking? Cookie, God knew when he sent you to us; you could handle us and all our tasks. I guess he thought you were finished doing your tasks so he took you home. We will always miss you, Cookie. Barbara Burlingame Louis and Kevin Ragonese

  7. Unfortunately I only knew Cookie through the phone lines or over e-mail. However because of her rare gift of blending a warm personality, great sense of humor, and professionalism I thought of her as a great friend. Those of you who knew her in person must have been truly blessed. Cookie we will miss you.

  8. To live life to the fullest, to share the warmth in her heart, and to share the laughter that was always on the tip of her lips….was our Cookie. She had a generous spirit about her and one we will all miss. May the family fill their hearts with loving memories. She was a treasure to all that knew her.

  9. Dear Lou and Sherry … There will always be fond memories of the “adventures with Cookie” – those were great times! She will be missed by her many, many friends. You are both in my prayers and I know God will give you the strength to get through this. My deepest sympathy to you both.

  10. Cookie was a very dear and loving woman. She touched so many lives including mine, my sons and my daughters. Our prayers are with your family right now. ~In the night of death, hope sees a star, and listening love can hear the rustle of a wing. ~Robert Ingersoll

  14. I wish to share my deepest sympathy to Cookie’s family. She was a real ‘firecracker’ and would always lighten up a room. I am grateful that I had the privilege to know and work with her, and making my time at SAIC that much more enjoyable. If I was ever in need of a good chuckle, I knew who could give me one – Cookie. May she rest in peace.

  15. From my time working with Cookie, I would venture to guess that she enhanced every life she touched. She cared deeply about people she came in contact with and about her family. Cookie was remarkable in a myriad of small ways. She had a knack for putting things into perspective, for saying the right thing, for helping a collegue, for showing sympathy. We will miss her.

  16. Lou I didn’t know Cookie real well but I knew how much she loved her West Highland White Terriers (westies) and anyone who can care for their pets the way she did is a very special person I know they will miss her as much as her family my thoughts are with you Lou Fondly Betty Swartz

  17. I am not sure how to begin to express my deep sadness at the loss of our beloved Cookie. For those of us in her “SAIC Family”, she was the spirited, generous go-to woman, who had an unmatched ability to make you laugh right out loud, give you a warm embrace or just listen and offer kind words of advice. She was a life-force, whose laughter filled a room and whose heart was full of love, compassion, courage and strength. Cookie was truly extraordinary; I will miss her very much. Louis & Sherri – Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you both. With Love, Megan & Eric

  27. Dear Lou and Shari, I can not find the words to express the sorrow I feel for your lose. I have been flashing back to those good ole Bloomie days and the laughter/adventures that I was fortunate to share with Cookie. I also have some very treasured moments in my heart for the unconditional love and support given to me and Meggie at a very diffucult time in our lives. Cookie was an exceptional person, and will be missed. Love and prayers, Debbie and Meggie

  28. Dear Lou: We were sadden to hear of Cookie’s passing and know how devoted you all were to each other. No one could shop like Cookie! She was a wonderful lady who has left her footprint in so many ways. I also know that the spirit of her love will never leave you and the memories of her will bless you always in the everyday things that still carry the tenderness of her life. Our thought and prayers go with you and all who loved her. Barry and Linda Lammersen

  29. Lou and Sherri, Mary and I want to express our condolences and how saddened we are at the passing of Cookie, especially in light of her gallant, courageous and victorious fight against cancer. We have never met anyone like Cookie with her blend of drive, enthusiasm and humor. We can’t imagine Heaven will ever be the same. However, life, on earth, has lost a great deal of its sparkle. Our prayers are with you.

  30. Lou, I was distressed to hear the news. I can’t help but think back to what a fun and caring person I remember and I feel lucky to have those memories. 32. Lou and Family, I was so pained to hear through the Virginia JCI Senate newsletter of Cookie’s passing. I have been out of Virginia for over 15 years but I have nothing but the warmest feelings about you and Cookie. I remember her great wit, loud laughter, and good heart, and all the give and take that we had with each other. I remember the fun times we had serving as judges at several local beauty contests and the wonderful arguments that we had in the selection process. I believe in God and Heaven and I have no doubt that Cookie is there now, already on several important committees and making people laugh. Please accept my deepest respect on the passing of this most wonderful person.
