I would like to offer my sympathies and condolences and prayers to Mrs. judge‘s whole family. To my wonderful friends, Dave and Missy losing a mom is very difficult in all circumstances. To her grandchildren, I know that she was your number one fan. Mrs. Judge has been, a very special person in my life since I was a teenager back in the 70s. I have referred to her as my second mom for decades. She was always feisty, smart and knowledgeable. She knew what us kids were going to do. It seemed before we knew what we were going to do. I have so many wonderful memories of her over the years. One that comes to mind is when Mr. Judge had just passed away. I showed up at the house on Oak Valley Drive after driving down there from Ontario , And I came in the front door, and she came to the top of the stairs and looked down at me, and said, Donald, you look like hell get in here and have a shave and a shower. She then said, would you like some of Nick’s clothing? I said noooo. After a shave and shower and some coaxing, I did take one of his “Skins” Baseball caps, which I treasure to this day as a memory of both of them. I am deeply saddened that I am not there in person today. A few circumstances came up that are not allowing me to be there. I will love her always, and she will always be in my heart.
Anne M. Judge

November 23, 1933 ~ July 10, 2024
Born in:
Kent, Ohio
Resided in:
Fairfax, Virginia
Ann(e) Williams – without an E at birth, but later changed for individuality😊 – was born in Kent, Ohio on November 23, 1933 to Helen and “Shorty” Williams. Her brothers Bob and Johnny were much older and, besides teasing her for being a baby all the time, bravely fought in World War II. On a whim decision, she studied and became a registered nurse at Cleveland County Hospital in 1954 and later studied nursing at Ohio State where she met the love of her life and husband of 52 years, Nick Judge. They were married on June 29, 1957 and, after Nick’s Air Force pilot training, moved to Michigan where they had two children, David and Melissa (Missy). With various job transfers, the family moved to Columbus, Pittsburgh, Grand Rapids, Falls Church, Boston, and Grand Rapids (again), with their last transfer to Vienna, VA.
After a career in nursing filled with stories she would continue to tell for the rest of her life, Anne went to work in the 1990s as a display designer at Hecht’s department store, and then volunteered at INOVA Thrift Shop in Fairfax. She moved to Ashby Ponds in Ashburn, VA after her husband’s death, a decision she deemed one of the best in her life, where she resided until her move to Cobbdale Assisted Living.
She is survived by her son, David and his wife, Jean; her daughter, Melissa; her grandson, Justin and his wife, Sarah and their two children, Aidan and Charlotte; her grandson, Nick and his wife, Sarah and their two children, Teddy and Penny; and her granddaughter, Cassidy. All would agree that she really shined in her role as grandma (aka Gma or GGma), and spoiled them silly, especially with cinnamon toast. She also maintained close relationships with her nieces and nephews and their families in addition to life-long friends from childhood; friends from the many places she lived and Ashby Ponds. In addition, she developed close relationships with her wonderful caregivers. If you sat and had a conversation with Anne, she would consider you a friend.
She was funny and feisty until the end. Her wit, kindness, and unfiltered honesty will be greatly missed.
