How can one sum up a life that made such an impact on mine. Her first lecture in nephrology, that upended my career plans the endless hours I spent on rounds with her, soaking up as much as I could, the lunches over which she regaled me with her stories and experiences, her singing and playing the piano, the softball games-and that devastating wit. My sincere condolences to the family. I will miss you Anne

To The Family.. Memories are so precious to us, and my memories of Dr Anne Thompson are full of laughter, love and joy. I was a patient of hers when I was just 18 years old until well into my 30’s. I am grateful, as is my family, for all her care over those years. I shall miss her smile. Much love and many prayers go out to her loving Family.
To Anne Marie’s Family, With great sadness and a mind full of wonderful memories of our high school years at Villa Maria Academy with “our Fishy”, I write to express my condolences. Anne was one of our stellar classmates, who fulfilled her destiny. Her intellect and talents were a treasure to behold. I feel honored to have known Fishy. My deepest sympathy, Marilyn Livengood VMA Class of ’59
I would like to let you know that I am sorry for your loss, Dr. Thompson was my doctor for many years since 1991, to follow up on my kidney transplant condition and became friends, I loved her so much and missed her when she retired, I will always remember her as the caring dr and friend that I found in her. Sincerely, Isela Diaz
So many memories of dear Dr Anne Thompson. I recall when she wrote in a patient’s chart Ecclasiastes 3 as this patient was elderly and ready to meet his G-d. a Resident who wanted to keep the patient alive would read chart and this verse from the bible and realize there is a time to be born & a time to die….nothing was too little or lowly nor to big or overwhelming for Anne. She told about when she & Dr Norman Kramer were in Residency at DC Gen Hosp in the late 1960’s, they went to the Admin. & told him that if he did not have 2 kidney machines there tomorrow, they would contact the media & tell them patients were dying. 2 new kidney machines there the next day. Patient’s were able to live…This speaks volumes about how caring she was for her patients. I am so sorry for your loss Bill,Vicki & Chris and your families. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten…She was an unsung heroe.I offer up the Aaronic blessing upon all of you,Numbers 6:22-26 Much love, Jerri
To William Thompson & Family, We had the joy of working with Dr. Thompson at Washington Nephrology Associates for several years before she retired. She was such a wonderful person, words cannot express how much she will be missed! She always offered us support when we needed it and was quick to tell us how great of a job we were doing. She was not only a great physician, but truly an amazing woman. Our deepest condolences go out to you and your family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
My sincerest condolences to the Thompson family. I am a transplant recipient of 20 years. I am so honored to have been seen by Dr. Thompson. It is because of her, that I and several other transplant recipients are alive. I thank God for Dr. Thompson’s special talent and what she has done for the transplant community. My deepest sympathy, Kathleen Fisher
I am so sorry to learn of Anne’s passing. I feel fortunate that I was able to know her at all in her capacity as a National Zoo volunteer. She was wonderful, and her dedication to the Zoo, even when she wasn’t able to physically be here, was truly remarkable. She will be sorely missed.
