  2. Jan I am so sorry we, Charlie and I, could not attend the service yesterday, I must have gotten some food poisoning from something I ate and it left me in bed all day. Please forgive me and I look forward to seeing you at poker once again.

  9. We cannot imagine the world without Tony. Working for and with Tony in the army and in the private sector we witnessed passion, energy, intelligence, hard work, loyalty and concern for all he met, the institutions he led and his country. He left us too soon but those who crossed his path are blessed with all he gave and with fond memories. Farewell good friend.

  10. Jan and Family Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Tony was a great guy. We will have many fond memories to cherish in our hearts. We had fun times laughing and joking, We had the honor of hearing Tony sing (what a voice). He was a great cook and he had a heart of gold. Even when there were some hard times Tonys spirit would keep fighting to live his life to the fullest. We will miss you terribly. A big Bear Hug Tony. God bless you.

  11. Jan and family, although I never had the privilege of working for COL Gallo, I certainly reaped the benefits of his work as Director, CI, at Army G-2. Please accept my condolences on your loss.

  12. Jan and Gallo Family Tony will be sorely missed but never forgotten by the Brito clan. So many fond memories.

  17. I am saddened to hear of his passing. He was an outstanding officer and a good man. We will pray for him and his family.

  18. I served under COL Gallo in the mid-70’s at the 511th MI Bn, Nuernberg, Germany and came to respect and like him greatly. I also briefly did some work for Tony at USIS. I will miss Tony and regret that I did not stay in closer touch with him. All have my deepest condolances. Dan and Betty Christman

  19. I can only echo the previous comments. They pretty much say it all. Tony Gallo was the finest boss I ever worked for in the CI field. He was a great team builder, and always had time to listen to new ideas — even from a crackpot like me. I’ll always feel honored to have known him.

  20. As my Uncle and my fathers brother, Anthony J. Gallo Jr. was always a inspiration and a mentor. He advised me in the beginning of my military service, inspired me to continue with my military career and offered guidance whenever called upon. These be three silent things: The falling snow, the hour before the dawn and the mouth of one who has just died. You will be missed. Godspeed to our Uncle Tony. Our thoughts and prayers of the Gallo’s are with all of his family.

  21. I served under Tony at the 511th in the 70’s, as a commander he had no peers. I saw him infrequently after that, but whenever I ran into him it was always a reunion. Together with my wife Karen, we offer our condolences and prayers. The world is a sadder place without Tony Gallo. He will be missed. Ed and Karen Burford

  22. My thoughts and prayers are with the Gallo family. Tony will be missed, for me he was a mentor in my early career at USIS. I will always remember his incredible energy and willingness to share his experiences and knowledge.

  23. It was an honor to have known Tony for several years. My staff and I send our deepest sympathy to Jan and your whole family.

  24. I am sure heaven will be more safe with you. Thank you for your service, and your family for the support to enable that service. My condolences to the Gallo Family.

  25. My thoughts and prayers will be you and yours during this time of sorrow. I know that Tony is in a better place. God Bless.

  26. It was more than 20 years ago that we first met Tony. He was a wonderful guy then and we had some fine times in Nurnberg. Dick met up with him again years later in Washington and the chatter continued. My condolences to his family, particularly to Lori, Liz and Christopher. Gallo

  27. I am so sorry that I did not know that Sonny lived so close. My father Charlie always spoke so highly of Sonny and encouraged me to keep contact with him. I remember Sonny’s kindness to me some years back when I was considering work in DC.
