Antonio Joshua Groia-Gillman

September 10, 1988 ~ December 13, 2014
On December 13, 2014, Antonio Joshua ("AJ") Groia-Gillman was called home to God. Born to loving parents Marisa and Arthur Gillman in Manchester, New Hampshire, AJ came into this world on September 10, 1988. AJ was a graduate of Fairfax County Public High School, and a student at Northern Virginia Community College where he was enrolled in the culinary program. He worked part-time at Revolution in Fairfax, Virginia.
AJ demonstrated his love of singing and performing by way of his two CDs "Meet Me at the Plaza" and "Raging Bull." In AJ's spare time he could be found in the kitchen inventing new recipes; and when he wasn't cooking, watching Adam Sandler movies or "I Love Lucy" and "Roseanne" reruns.
But most of all AJ enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. We will miss his disarming charm, his trademark laugh, and one of the many ways in which AJ showed his affection for those he lovedhis hugs. We will always remember this truly amazing man forever branded in our hearts.
He is survived by his parents, Marisa Alfano (Richard Gray) and Arthur (Kim) Gillman; his half-brother William Gillman; his step-siblings Tyler, Jonathan and Jessica Gray; and his beloved fianc Kiara Skye Phillips; and the many extended family members who made up AJ's world.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to their friends and neighbors for their sympathy in loving memory of AJ.

We will remember all our good times with AJ. Our memories from his boyhood to manhood will be forever etched in our minds. We will miss him so much.

My memories of AJ will be everlasting.
I’ll miss you bro! I’ll always remember you as a great friend. I’ll always remember the times we hung out, the music we made, and the movie we worked on. Hard to believe I will never see you again. May your soul rest in peace. My condolences go out to the family, I’m so sorry for your loss.
Sending you love and prayers across the miles. We are thinking of you and keeping you close in thought. We will always remember “Josh” and the many times he spent at our home for birthday parties or just hanging out with Billy. I will never forget his sweet face or how much he loved everything that had to do with the holiday of Halloween! A special boy that grew into a wonderful, caring, loving young man. May you feel God’s love, strength and protection today and every day forward as well as the love of your family and friends.
Marisa and Art, I am so sorry for your loss.
