Barbara Anne Rittinger Finn of Vienna, VA passed away peacefully on Monday, November 30, 2020. Beloved mother of Patricia Finn Rappaport, Francis Arthur Finn, and Sean Karl Finn. Devoted Grandmother of Ian Lawrence Rappaport, Nicole Mairi Rappaport, Aiden Lee Finn and Alaina Sophia Finn. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Arthur Francis Finn.

One of seven children she is survived by one sister and three brothers: Alice Husovsky, Larry Rittinger, James Rittinger, and Karl Rittinger and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Mary (Dolly) Rittinger and her brother Danielle Rittinger.

A native daughter of Wilkes-Barre, PA; Barbara was a lifelong learner who loved music, reading and traveling the world. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Sophie Rittinger. She worked in the medical field after graduating from College Miseracordia in Dallas, PA. During the sixties and seventies, she took a sabbatical from the career world to raise her family of three children. As her children grew more independent, she returned to school where she obtained a Master’s degree in Women’s Studies from George Washington University in 1978 and then a Master’s in Social Work from Catholic University in 1982. She worked for many years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing counseling and support to families and children. She was an active member of her parish at St. Mark Catholic Church. She spent the later years of her life caring for her husband who suffered with a prolonged illness.

Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mark Catholic Church, Vienna, VA on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. The service will be streamed live. Please view the link at moneyandking.com. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made “In Memory of Barbara Finn” to the Alzheimer’s Association.
