Barbara was one very classy women with a sweet personable flare. The one thing that comes to mind is her hat’s, the ones she would wear to church, and scooting around town in Vienna. WE all will miss her.*
While never having met Barbara; Kate, Robert and I can only imagine what a wonderful person she must have been if she is anything like her daughter Christa. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!
Barbara was a thoughtful and caring woman and a cornerstone in our community in Oakton. A truly lovely lady whose presence will be missed.
It was a pleasure knowing Barbara. She was always a joy when she joined us at family gatherings. She will be greatly missed.
Wishing you comfort, peace and hope in this time of sadness. With deepest sympathy, Vivien and Doug Damon
Christa & Family, During this difficult time, please know that there are many people that love you and are praying for you. May you find peace in the wonderful memories you have and cherish all the good that your mother brought into your life. I am certain she is smiling down on you from Heaven!
There are so many things I will miss but one in particular comes to mind; being referred to as “My Assistant”. Barbara has a piece of my heart with her in heaven. Her family is a constant reminder to us all of how wonderful she was.
We will miss Barbara and Toby on their daily walks, and Barbar’s sunny disposition coping with her pains. We’ll miss her baked beans at our HOA cookouts.
Barbara will forever be in our memory because She was a wonderful next door neighbor. Always dependable and friendly towards her Brazilian neighbors – the Mota Family. We will also remember a funny story Barbara told us about Daisy, her female dog. A police officer saw Daisy unleashed and gave a ticket to Barbara. Barbara complained by saying: “Am I a criminal? I got a ticket because of this dog…”
With Our Sympathy to Your Family May thoughts of all your mother meant, Of love she gave, of good times spent, Bring you peace and comfort to your family. With Love, Woody, Mary-Rose, Michelle, Scott and John Woodward
Christa & Family My heart is filled with sadness at your loss of your Mom. I wanted to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all. May your memories of Barbara give you strength and may the comfort of God help you during this difficult time and in the days ahead.
Dear Christa and family, My deepest condolences to you and your family. May you find peace, tranquility and strength in this time of sorrow and pain. Sincerely, Grace Belmonte and Family.
I always will see your smiling face and remember your words of wisdom, that the present is a present. Thank you dear one for your guidance.
I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. I am the NP who called 911 last winter when she was shopping in the Oakton CVS and wasn’t feeling well. I only saw her twice after that, but always kept my eye out for her. She was a delightful, spirited lady. I know you are brokenhearted and will miss her desperately, but I wanted to tell you that she also touched my life, though briefly. Remember the good times and talk about her often, as it helps with the pain. Best wishes to your families, Anne Patrick
Christa, please know that you and your family are in my prayers daily as this is no easy thing to experience. The Lord is so great and loves you so much and He gets us through every task, trial, tribulation, loss, etc. I pray that you and your family be blessed and that you all will cherish and hold dear to your hearts the time you had with your mom. Lots of hugs, Kim
Barbara was one of the kindest and most wonderful neighbors that anyone could wish for. I lived right next door to her and will always remember her with much fondness. I was blessed to have her as a friend and will miss her greatly. Her family is in my prayers.
I am so sad to hear of Ms. Mackey’s passing. She was such a wonderful woman. I cleaned her carpets for several years and always looked forward to just sitting and talking to her. Sometimes I would have my oldest daughter with me and she was so kind to her, we would all just sit there and talk. I remember some very sage advice Ms. Mackey gave me over the years, regarding men. We will miss her greatly and feel so honored to have known her at all.
