Barbara L. Bates, of Reston, Virginia passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Fair Oaks Hospital. She was born August 9, 1923. She is survived by one brother, Wendel B. Crum of Dearborn, Michigan; three children, Sandra Speed of Reston, Virginia, Scott Bates of Sheridan, Wyoming, & Randal Bates of Virginia Beach, Virginia; twelve grandchildren & 13 great-grandchildren. her beloved husband Robert M. Bates & her son, Michael A. Bates preceded her in death in 1974.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the American Lung Association. No service is planned. Burial is to be held at a later date in Pensacola, Florida at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Randy, Your Mom, you, and your family are in our prayers. As sad as I’m sure it must be for you and you family to loose your Mom so close to Christmas you should take some comfort in knowing she will be spending Christmas in Heaven.
