Bobbie Lester Donald, 84, a retired electronic engineer died November 3, 2012 at Reston Hospital Center in Reston, Va. following a stroke. Mr. Donald, a Fairfax County resident, had lived and worked in the Washington area off and on since 1932. He was born in St. Paul, Va.

He graduated from Washington & Lee High School in Arlington, Va. in 1946 and from George Washington University, with a degree in Electronic Engineering, in1957. He also completed post graduate work in Engineering Management.

He served in the US Army and US Air Force from 1947 to 1954. He spent two years (1952 to 1954) in New Delhi, India at the American Embassy as an Assistant US Air Attache.

He was employed as an Electronic Engineer in private industry from 1957 to 1963. He was employed by the DOD Defense Communications Agency from 1963 until his retirement in 1989.

He was a lifetime member of the Masons, Elks, and a member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers.

His first marriage to Barbara Taylor, deceased, ended in divorce in 1971.

Beloved husband of 40 years of Wilma Donald, loving father of Bruce Donald and Robert Donald, step father of Penny O'Donnell and Peter Pantazopoulos, step grandfather of Patrick O'Donnell and Samantha Pantazopoulos, also survived by many other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 8th from 10am to 11am at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 West Maple Avenue, Vienna, VA, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11am. Graveside services with military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
