Bonnie Viola Skinner, age 92, of Philomont, VA, passed away on January 25, 2026, at her home on Seven Oaks Vineyard.
Bonnie was born in Huntington, IN on October 1, 1933, to her parents Stewart and Helen Reprogle. She lived most of her childhood in Magnolia Springs, AL with her parents and sister Naomi, where she spent her days swimming in the Magnolia River and playing on the sandy white beaches of the Gulf Shores. After high school she worked at an apothecary in Foley, AL where she met Benjamin B. Skinner, a dashing young Marine Corps aviator who she married soon thereafter on February 5, 1954, in Magnolia Springs.
Bonnie was a career Marine Corps wife moving a total of 11 times in Ben’s 27-year career. She was active in church, choir, and the Officers’ Wives Club. Bonnie was an excellent cook and generous hostess, supporting Ben’s military career with enchanting dinners and cocktail soirees. After Ben retired, they settled in Annandale, VA where she worked in the interior design and decorating business. She was an accomplished artist working in ceramics and porcelain and loved China painting, a pursuit she continued well into her 80s. Bonnie loved being surrounded by good humor, intelligent conversation, dogs of all kinds, and especially, her cherished family and friends. As an avid gardener, she kept her home beautiful, inside and out, surrounding it with nature’s beauty.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Stewart and Helen Reprogle; Sister and Brother-in-law, Naomi and Warner Presley; husband, Benjamin B. Skinner; daughter, Betty Ann Skinner; son, Michael B. Skinner; and daughter-in-law, Wanda F. Udy.
She is survived by her son Mark (Madeline) grandsons, Joshua (Jenny) and Ben (Charlotte) and great grandson’s Benjamin and William.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Blue Ridge Hospice.

Deepest sympathy. Bonnie was a lovely classy lady.
Bonnie was always kind to me. I don’t know if I knew a more gentle woman. I am blessed to have known her and her husband Ben and her grandchildren. The Keener family sends their love.
