Boyd Whitmer Humphrey
December 25, 1924 ~ September 9, 2018
Boyd Whitmer Humphrey was born on December 25, 1924 in Central City, Kentucky. He was raised in Evansville, Indiana where he graduated from high school in 1943. From 1943 to 1946, Mr. Humphrey served in the US Coast Guard. Upon leaving the Coast Guard, he attended Purdue University on the G.I. Bill and graduated from ther in 1950. Mr. Humphrey was recruited by General Electric where he served in a supervisory advertising position and was responsible for promoting and advertising relating to the THOR and ATLAS missle projects. He left General Electric in 1965 to take a position at Western Union Telegraph Company in New York City. There, he served as Vice President of advertising until his retirement in 1987. With his wife Betty (deceased) he moved to McLean, Virginia in 1999 to be near his beloved grandchildren. Mr. Humphrey was the loving and devoted father of two daughters, Danielle L. Seute (deceased) and Adrianne H. Schneider. He leaves behind his daughter, Adrianne, her husband Steven Schneider and their three sons, Andrew, Ian andGregory, as well as son-in-law Timothy Seute and grandchildren, Sasha Seute and Nikolai Seute.
