Brenda Albers Craft of Vienna, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025, after a courageous battle with a number of chronic illnesses. She faced each challenge with strength and grace.
Brenda was born on September 22, 1946, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Henry Martin Albers and Elizabeth Wood Budlong. After graduating from Sturdy Nursing Academy in 1969, Brenda proudly joined the United States Air Force. She was stationed at Clinton-Sherman Air Force, at the rank of Second Lieutenant, before being honorably discharged with a baby bump and a new chapter as a mother to her daughter, Elizabeth Ann.
Brenda’s path eventually brought her to Northern Virginia, where she made an indelible mark as a labor and delivery nurse at Fairfax Hospital. Over the span of more than 30 years, she was a source of strength and compassion to countless families, helping to welcome new life into the world.
Despite living in Virginia for the majority of her life, Brenda never lost her New England spirit — her love for chowder, fried clams, and her unmistakable accent remained with her always. She was known for her infectious laugh, a smile that could brighten any room, and a heart full of love for those around her.
Brenda was a devoted mother to her children, Elizabeth and Sean, and a proud grandmother to Anastasia, Carter, and Kelsey. She is survived by her loving partner of over 30 years, Robert M. Mulner; her daughter Elizabeth A. Bearden and son-in-law Scott Bearden; her son Sean M. Craft and daughter-in-law Jennifer Craft; her sister Meribeth Bowden; and her nieces and nephews, Alison Bowden, Karl Bowden, and Eric Bowden.
Brenda is now reunited in peace with her beloved grandson Quintin and the many pets she adored throughout her life. Her legacy lives on through her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched through her work and kindness.
Services for Brenda will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Money and King Funeral Home in Vienna, Virginia. Visitation will begin at 5:30 PM, followed by a service at 7:00 PM.
A private celebration of life and burial will be held by the family in Rhode Island at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Brenda’s memory to one of the following organizations: Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation https://www.lostdogrescue.org/ * Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) https://foha.org/
She will be deeply missed.

Although we did not know Brenda well, we did know her son, Sean and his wife Jen and family. Sean was our son’s best friend, and when he died at the ripe age of 31, Sean and Jen kept in touch with our son’s sister, Sara. They have included her over the years in many family events. I cannot tell you how much I admire Sean and obviously how his mother impacted his life. As we lived far apart, i never had the pleasure to know Brenda, but through her son, I feel I know her heart was loving and tender. Sean is a wonderful father, husband and a wonderful son! We love them all, Sean, Jen, Carter and Kelsey and if we lived closer would obviously see them more often. It is so sad to lose a mom. Sean and family, we love you all dearly. God Bless!
