February 5, 1989 ~ June 23, 2021
Brittany Dunbar, 32, died unexpectedly and suddenly on June 23, 2021 in her home in Vienna, Virginia.
A Celebration of Life has been set for Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Vienna Presbyterian Church (VPC) in Vienna, Virginia. There will be a viewing open to all at 11:00AM, prior to the celebration at 12:00. Interment will be at Ketoctin Cemetery (and Church) in Purcellville, Virginia at approximately 2:00 PM.
Brittany was born February 5, 1989, in Fairfax, Virginia to Robert (Bob) and Christine Dunbar. Bob is an IT Manager with GDIT, a government contractor. Her mother, Christine, is a pre-school teacher and a long-time Child Care Provider in their Vienna home. Bob has lived in Vienna since 1964 and Bob and Christine married and have lived in Vienna since 1985.
Due to her battle with an eating disorder and associated complications, Brittany lived with her parents, bringing them closer together. She graduated from James Madison High School in 2007. She attended college at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Virginia. After graduation, Brittany worked as an actor, a barista, and a nanny in the local area. She is a member of the Vienna Presbyterian Church, participating in all the VPC youth group activities.
Her interests included family, her Daddio, her mother, her brother, her sister, her friends, anything Broadway, musical theater, music, and photography. She devoted much of her time and energy providing help and support to her sister Ashley. Early on, Brittany was a star softball player and loved the game. While with the Virginia Crush, she took 15th place in the nation at USSA 2004 World Series where she met Michelle Smith. Having to work, Brittany found real joy in being a barista. She worked at several Starbucks, Peets Coffee, and few smaller franchises. It was the people aspect of the job she loved the most. One of Brittany’s greatest loves was music. This was a passion only she shared with her father. Music could always lift her spirit and it brought a great joy.
Brittany is survived by her parents Bob and Christine Dunbar, her brother, Damon Banks and his spouse Kimberly; her sister, Ashley Dunbar, her nephews; Jameson Mehaffey, Toby and Silas Dunbar, and her niece Cameron Mehaffey.
She was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Virginia and Norman Dunbar, and Marjorie and Richard E. Cook.
Donations may be made to her Go Fund Me Page, in lieu of flowers.

Brittany was a beautiful, caring young woman. Her feelings ran deep and were expressed in so many ways during her short life. She shared a love of Elvis with me and “Mimi,” and as Elvis did, she left us way too soon. Rest in peace sweet Brittany and know you were loved by many. Love always, Aunt Sandy
A candle was lit for the decedent.
