Of Vienna, VA died on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Sunrise at Oakton, VA. Loving husband of 70 years to Florence Patricia Schardt, devoted father of JoAnn (William) Sterritt, Rev. William B. Schardt, and Susan Stewart. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Raymond (Crystal) Cosby, Susie (Chad) Foster, Christy (Brian) Kurutz, Amy (Ron) Lavery, Ryan (Angela) Sterritt, and Adam (Kimberly) Sterritt; great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Chase, Brianne, Trent, Gage, Libby, Catie, William, Samuel, Clementine, and Grey; sister-in-law, Delores Gargan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Rd., Vienna, VA on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
