Loran and Doug – Sorry to read about your Dad. I remember him well as a Scout parent who was a big help to me in those days. You were fortunate to have had him with you all these years. See Job 42:17. Barney Lawless
Though we did not know Captain Adams personally, Dan’s father, Captain Harry D. Helfrich, was also a member of USNA, Class of 1939. We are sending our condolences as part of the USNA and USN Families.
My thoughts and prayers to the entire family, Henry, Loran, Doug and Winn. I have so many fond memories of our two families, with four boys each, growing up on Old Chesterbrook Rd in McLean, even attending St Dunstan’s together for so many years. And later running into Captain Adams on occasion at the golf course. He was a wonderful gentleman and we are ever so thankful to his service to our country.
Loran, Precilla and family It’s hard to say good buy. With all the things Henry accomplished in his life journey of 98 years, he left us with no regrets but the memory of a wonderful man and a devoted husband and father. Our loving thoughts are with you. Athena and CC
My sympathies on your lost of a man I considered a friend in our later years. He was a gentleman respected by all. I thank him for his Service. Sam Hellier
Dear Doug, Winn, Loran, and Henry, and family Sorry for your loss. The Captain was a truly great man – understated, smart, straight, always a role model, always a gentleman, encouraging, positive. How he survived so long after all the pranks and stunts you pulled in your youth is itself a miracle. He and Vina did it all so well. We all salute him for a life well lived and we give thanks for him keeping us within the boundaries and the many fond moments shared at the Captain’s house on Old Chesterbrook. John Freeman and family
