Carl Bachurski

Carl Bachurski, 97, of McLean., died November 30, 2016. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke Catholic Church, McLean, Va., on Friday, December 9th at 1:30 PM.
Carl was born in Philadelphia, Pa, one of ten siblings. He served as Staff Sergeant in the 704th Tank Destroyer Battalion in the US Army's 4th Armored Division during World War II, wher he was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service and a Purple Heart Medal. Upon his return from the service, Carl worked as a brick and stone mason. He was passionate about gardening and exploring the great outdoors. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus.
A kind and loving man, Carl raised four daughters with his wife of 67 years, Gloria van der Loo Bachurski. He exemplified humility, grace, humor and genuine respect for everyone he met. Carl is greatly loved and missed by his daughters Lynda Grey, Susan Bachurski (John Shore), Carla Allen and Laura Bachurski.
