On Thursday, May 5, 2011 at her home in Greenspring Village, formerly of Vienna, VA. Wife of the late Edward F. Duffy; mother of Stephen F. Young (Aurora) and Madelon J. Helm; step-mother of Patricia Balthis (Griffin) and the late Edward Duffy, Jr. (Janice); grandmother of Amy, Stacie, Annette, Allison, Mark, Paul, and Todd. Also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Virginia or Capitol Hospice.

I count Carmella as a thoughtful friend for her motherly advice that helped shape my life during the time I knew her. One of the things she was noted for was the Cheesecakes she made to celebrate office personnel birthdays. I know finding her husband Eddie in the later stages of her life was a blessing to both her and her family. My condolences go to the family and relatives.
