Carol Cramer Drummond
March 5, 1933 ~ March 3, 2018
Carol Cramer Drummond (Mrs. Roscoe Drummond) left this world peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018, but her spirit remains with us. Her piquant sense of humor and determinately positive attitude, her delight in making utter strangers smile at her kind words. She was outgoing and friendly to all who would share their dreams and aspirations with her. Carol lived an active life focused on music and singing She had a beautiful soprano voice, trained in the bel canto technique by Todd Duncan. After much performing herself, she had many students. All her friends are invited to a memorial service at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA on Wednesday April 4 at 11 a.m. Online condolences and fond memories of Carol may be offered to the family at www.moneyandking.com

Carol, you were a great friend for many years and an inspiration to everyone you had contact with. Your smile and thoughtfulness made everyone’s day. I will treasure your last words to me “Love You, Precious” and know that you are now in peace. Gayle Davis, Orrington, Maine
Carol, God blessed you with a beautiful voice and we thank you for sharing this gift with the world on stage as well as all the people in your everyday life. I shall always remember your philosophy of life: “Be the best you can be, while making sure to harm no one, take advantage of no one and be fair in all dealings.” You succeeded and have left behind a “big family of friends”. Every time we hear your music, we will remember your smile, your laugh, kindness and funny comments. But sometimes your comments were very deep and based on Christ’s teachings. I remember you singing at my mother’s birthday parties and the lullabies you sang to her on summer evenings on the bench by the fountain.
May you and your beloved Bichon, Lionel (who joined you within a few hours after you started on your last journey to Heaven) rest together in peace.

I met Carol at the Reel Pizza Cinema in Bar Harbor, Maine when a group of my Beta Sigma Phi sorority sisters were watching Calendar Girls. During intermission 3 of my sisters who had daughters taking singing lessons from Carol introduced us to her. We were having so much fun that Carol wanted to join our group. We invited her and she brought in two more. We grew to love her immensely. She became a true friend to me and a loving confidant. On her 70th birthday, we surprised her by picking her up at her ‘Dream ‘ home in Southwest Harbor in a limousine and taking her to Gaylyn’s Gallery Restaurant in Bar Harbor. We had so much fun and she loved every minute of it. In 1999 our BSP chapter and a couple of other local chapters hosted a 3 day convention at the Regency Hotel . We had over 150 members from Maine, Canada and a few other states including 1 from Alaska in attendance. One of the major activities at any convention is the Saturday night entertainment. Carol took complete charge of this. She gathered her star singing students who put on a very professional program. Including one gorgeous hunk who melted all our hearts. Some of the skits included Cinderella, Wizard of Oz and others with beautiful costumes and sets. As one of the chairs of the convention I received high praises of how great the show was, in fact the best of any convention they had ever attended. They couldn’t believe that our area had such a professional group and commented that they were good enough for Broadway. All of this directed by Carol.
Carol, I always loved our talks, seeing the pictures of you in the white house with Presidents and others. I still use your cards created from your original paintings. You are so loved by everyone you came in contact with. Your smile and my favorite (your hugs that I could feel even through the phone after you moved back to VA), your artistry, and genuine caring for everyone were cherished and you will be greatly missed. You are the classiest person I have ever known. Rest in Peace knowing that you fulfilled your quest to be an inspiration and teacher in so many ways to everyone who knew you.
Your loving sister, Judy Morse

I know I am 4 years too late but my grandmother, Joanna Herrick was sorority sisters with Miss Carol. She took me to her house in Southwest Harbor, ME for the first time when I was 12 years old. I played on the piano with all the stickers and even got to place a sticker on the piano. I sang for her and we would go to lunch. I did this every summer when I would vacation on the island for most of my childhood. Miss Carol was a wonderful person. I had a phone number for her when she moved to Virginia but couldn’t get ahold of her once I moved. Im now 31 years old and think of the influence she had on me often. I’m so sad to learn she had passed and very sorry I didn’t know sooner. I’ve sent her a Christmas card every year and this year i was curious…because I hadn’t heard from her in a long time. She was one of the nicest people I know.
