Carolyn Nichols Hackney, 41, died April 23, 2014. A private family ceremony will be held. Carolyn was born May 3, 1972 in Reston, Va to Harriett Reid Perkins and Charles Hackney, Jr. Carolyn could accomplish anything she set her mind to. She was the youngest of five siblings who loved and supported her throughout her life. Carolyn loved animals and would often rescue dogs (at one time, she had three). She would spend her last dollar on dog food before feeding herself.Carolyn spent most of her life loving all that surrounded her and searching for love in return. She is survived by her siblings, sister, Margaret Rucks, brother, Robert Rucks, Sr. (spouse, Jeanne Rucks), sister, Catherine Kleifges (spouse, Kevin Kleifges), sister, Blair Rucks and nephews, Nick Kleifges, Neil Kleifges, Robert Rucks, Scott Rucks, Paul Lumry and Reid Kinnett and niece, Paige Rucks.

May she find peace in heaven.

  3. I’m so sorry to here about Carolyn , I know how much she loved all animals, especially her dogs. I worked with her at prince william Orthopaedics and she was an extremely hard worker and a very nice person.

  4. Carolyn, I have known you since you were 16 years old. You were such a kind hearted sweet person. You were always there for me when I needed a friend and I tried to always be there for you. Your love for dogs inspired me to be the best dog owner I could be. Thank you for being my closest friend, I will never forget you and I hope you know I love you.

  8. I haven’t seen Carolyn since high school and was very sad to hear of her passing. She was always a sweet, loving, and accepting person. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
