Catherine C. Baker, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, March 5th, of complications due to cancer. Her husband Coleman Baker (Colonel, U.S. Air Force Ret.) predeceases her.

Mrs. Baker was born on December 30, 1935 in Lampasas, Texas to Ruth and Bryan Casbeer.

She graduated from Lampasas High School; and from the University of Texas, Austin where she studied Early Childhood Education and was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. While in college she met and married Captain Coleman Lee Baker, an Air Force pilot stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base. They were stationed at various locations including Oregon, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Japan, Okinawa, England, Texas and Virginia. She enjoyed learning about new cultures and was active in the Officers' Wives' Club.

She was a successful realtor and mortgage banker helping many people, including newly stationed military families, purchase and finance homes. She enjoyed playing bridge and attained Life Master status in 2005. She loved reading, completing the crossword puzzle, gardening (roses and peonies where her specialty), and was an avid student of World War II history.

Cathy lived a full exciting life and loved to laugh, dance and have a good time. Her joyous personality and optimistic spirit will be missed greatly and remembered lovingly.

Survivors include son Stephen Baker of Washington, DC, daughter Elizabeth Baker-Taylor, son-in-law Mark Taylor of Pleasant Hill, CA and dear companion Anthony Gallucio.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Tuesday, March 12th at 11:00 am at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 1125 Savile Lane, McLean, Virginia. She will be interred with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a private family ceremony.
