Dearest Georgene & Family, I was so sad on Saturday evening to get the news from George Tedeschi of Uncle Pete’s passing. It was so unexpected. There was no mention in your Christmas card of a health problem. Perhaps there was no knowledge of any then, perhaps for the best. I saw in the obituary that he passed away at home. I’m sure that was a great comfort to him and everyone, an environment of peace, love and the familiar. It was interesting reading about him, being reminded of things I knew and things I didn’t or had forgotten–baker extraordinaire! That’s something! I am truly sorry that I’ll be unable to come to Virginia to share this life celebration with you, but know that you are in my thoughts. Strange as it seems, I told mom and dad to be on the lookout for Uncle Pete in heaven (I do talk to them). As requested, I will make a donation to the American Cancer Society in his name. Take care, God bless and MUCH love to you all. Pat
It has been many years since I have been in touch with the Tufo family, however I think of you all often. I was very sorry to read of Mr. Tufo’s passing in the Washington Post this evening and offer my condolences. He was a very special man who will be truly missed. Memories of Mr. Tufo and his family will always bring a smile.
So sorry to hear about Pete. I so enjoyed being with Pete at so many VR-22 reunions, especially on the golf course. His membership with Branch 219 FRA will also be missed.
