Chin "Kay" Yu Dix, 88, of Vienna, VA, passed peacefully in her home Tuesday morning, November 24, 2015, in Vienna, VA. She is back in the loving arms of her husband, John Gilmer Dix, Sr. She is survived by her sister Aikee Kao and brother Hiro in Taiwan, and her 10 children: Diana (Hsu Ying) Lien, Michael (Wen Sung) Lien, Wen Hsiung Lien, Hsu Ching Lien, Robert (Hsu Fong) Lien, Kathy Diana Haskins, Gretchen Dix Schofield (Brad), Margaret Dix, Emily Hope Hohmann (George) and John G. Dix, Jr. (Kim). Her grandchildren in Virginia (Tiffany, Jeffrey, Judi, Megan, Lizzy, Emily and little John) were big part of Nana's life and she provided day care for them in their early years before starting school. She loved watching them grow up- they were the joy of her life and she was very proud of each of them. She also loved her 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren in Taiwan. Thanks to Facebook, she was able to enjoy pictures and videos.

Kay devoted her life to her family. She was an especially good cook and took pride in preparing large meals whenever there was a fathering at Dix Corner- all were welcome and all were well fed. She was a huge Redskins fan and watched every game day faithfully. She also loved a good rummy game or a puzzle. Because of her nurturing ways, everybody knew her as "Momma" or "Nana", including friends, neighbors, and even clients of the Japanese Steakhouse, where she waitressed and bartended for 20 years. Kay was also an Air Force wife for almost two decades.
