CHRISTINE W. HUFF

It is with great sadness that the family of Christine "Chris" Huff, of Vienna, VA, and formerly of Springfield, VA, and the city of Baltimore, MD, announces her passing following a long battle with Alzheimer's on January 16, 2018.

Christine was born in Baltimore, MD, on January 17, 1950, to George J. Widman and Elizabeth H. Olsen Widman. She was preceded in death by her brother, David G. Widman, of Baltimore, MD, and her sister, Loretta E. Widman, of Baltimore, MD.

Following her graduation from Notre Dame College of Baltimore in 1972, Christine started her career in telecommunications with the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company in Baltimore, MD. Along the way she received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland in 1980. Following a successful career in telecom with Verizon and its predecessor companies, she retired as a Project Manager with 33 years of service in 2006.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Frederick V. Huff, of Vienna, VA, and their two beloved daughters, Julie M. Huff, of Chester, VA, and Ellen E. Huff, of Fairfax, VA. Christine had a sweet and gentle heart, and her family will miss her dearly and remember her always.

Interment will be private. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at https://act.alz.org.

Guestbook

  1. The Andrews Family sends its condolences to the Huff family for the loss of their mother and wife, Christine. We remember her as a sweet and lovely neighbor in our Oakton Glen neighborhood.

  2. Chris did, indeed, have a “sweet and gently heart” — attributes shared by all of you. We are certain it has been poignant on many levels to deal with her illness, but you ensured her good care and had the loving attention of Loretta to ease her absence over many years. We send our love and condolences. Mary and Bob Diegelman

  3. Christine’s smile will be forever in my memory. My deepest condolences to Fred and family.
