Claire L. Lange

October 1, 1936 ~ November 18, 2016
Claire Lee Lange, age 80, died peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in McLean, Virginia on November 18, 2016. Claire was born on October 1, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Roy and Margaret Ronberg. She attended Purdue University where she met Warren H. Lange and they were married on June 8, 1958. They were blessed with four children; Cathryn, David, Karen, and Russell.
Claire was a warm hearted and spirited wife, mother, and friend. She could always be found on the bleachers or sidelines cheering her children on in their sporting events or volunteering in their classrooms. She taught Sunday School, sewed Halloween costumes, met her kids at the bus stop, and taught them how to do cartwheels in the backyard. She had a love for old movies, singing and dancing. Claire will be remembered for her strength, fairness, acceptance, love of politics, and compassion for her family and friends. Besides working full-time as a mother and homemaker, she worked part-time at Houghton Mifflin Book Publishing Company, JC Penney and Weichert Realty.
Claire's pride and joy were her ten grandchildren; Russell and wife Joanna, Matt, Alex, Cori, Michael, Chris, Joey, Steven, Lee and Taylor. She had a special place in her heart for her honorary grandchildren, Jack and Abby. She saved every card the children sent and every picture they drew.
Claire is survived by her daughter, Cathryn and husband, Jack; son, David and wife Lisa; daughter, Karen and husband, Ed. Claire will be greatly missed but her family is comforted knowing that she is with her savior, Jesus Christ, and has been reunited with her husband, Warren, and son, Russell.
The family of Claire Lange respectfully asks that memorial donations be made in memory of Claire to Grace Christian Academy, 3233 Annandale Road, Falls Church, Virginia 22042 or to the ALS Association, www.alsa.org.
