On Friday, July 24, 2009, Cleo K. Murphy (age 80) of Vienna, Virginia passed away at Fairfax Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of Capt. Joseph Patrick Murphy, U.S. Navy; & loving mother of Mary Grace (Tony) Mandaro, Michelle Murphy-Parker & the late Michael John Murphy. Mrs. Murphy & her family traveled extensively before moving to Vienna in 1969 when her husband was stationed at the Pentagon. She was an extraordinary cook who specialized in Greek cuisine & is the "world's greatest grandmother" to Patrick J. Parker, Kelly M. Parker, Zachary Mandaro & Alexander Mandaro.

  8. Mary Grace and Michelle, Your mom was such a big part of my familys life. We always loved when Uncle Joe and Aunt Cleo came to visit. She made the greatest Greek dishes and I learned to speak a little Greek thanks to her. She was a “Kukla” and a “jellybean”. So many special moments and memories that I will cherish always.
