We will miss you Cordelia
Our prayers are with the family.
Mrs. Sansone was an outstanding member who gave fully of her time and talents to the Virginia Division, UDC. She served as Second VP,Chairman of Jefferson Davis Highway and the Virginia Division HQ’s Committee. Each position was stronger due to her service. Would that we had more members of her dedication and zeal.
I enjoyed our trips riding together to the joint UDC chapter meetings in Alexandria many years ago. I remember you each fall when I bring out the lovely silver dollar branches you gave me from your own yard. My husband doesn’t shovel snow and ice from other ladies’ front walkways, but he was pleased to do that for you. Thank you for your friendship.
Dear Aunt Cordelia, you were the light and love of my uncle Rocco better known as Gig to his family, all the Sansones, especially me have valued your friendship.Rest in peace with my uncle Gig.
Aunt Cordelia, It was very kind of you to share my Uncle Gig’s experiences during World War II with my son and I. My son, David III still has your wedding picture, as well as, Uncle Gig’s Medals hanging on his bedroom wall.
My uncle Rocco was devoted to his wife the entire 44 years of their life togeather. My aunt Cordelia was renowned for her gererosity and good works.May they rest in peace togeather again.Loving nephew David J.Sansone
Mrs. Sansone called me this fall regarding the Jefferson Davis Hwy and was so pleased to learn it had been placed on the National Register. I met her in Roanoke, Va. in the early 90’s at a Va. Division Meeting and have admired her amazing ability to continue to seek her goal of obtaining a Va.Division Headquarter’s building. She never let go of that dream. What a role model and hero for the future generations. Our deepest sympathy to the family. She was a gracious and lovely lady. Ruth Snead Elliott Grays Chapter #1877 Richmond, Va

Remembering Cordelia’s passionate Southern spirit brings joy to my heart. Her passing brings great sadness but I know she will forever be remembered because of her diligent good works especially for Virginia Division Headquarters Fund and the beautiful scrapbook of our ancestors she so lovingly compiled. Her spirit will forever live in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness.
