November 9, 1946 ~ November 22, 2024

Born in: Cleveland, Ohio
Resided in: Herndon, Virginia

Cynthia “Cindy” Bogus (nee DiConcezio) passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024 with her husband lovingly by her side.

Born November 9, 1946 to Gladys (nee Dietzler) and Domenico DiConcezio. Cindy spent most of her young life in Cleveland, Ohio with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends nearby. This is also where she met and married the love of her life, Andrew “Drew” Bogus.

Forever proud of her children Samantha and Christopher, she touted them as “her greatest accomplishments.” They both found their own families in Jeff Nicholson and Juliette Barnes respectfully. Cindy was affectionately known as “Grandma Grandma” to her wonderful grandsons Jonathan Nicholson and Benjamin Bogus as well as her two beautiful granddaughters Natalie and Noelle Bogus, loving them more deeply than she ever thought possible.

Cindy was strong willed and stubborn at times, but she also had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. She was generous, loyal, and fierce. When Samantha was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, Cindy became a powerful advocate working with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) as President of the Arizona Diabetes Association (AZDA). Additionally, she sat on the board of the Franklin Farm Foundation for many years. You could also find her playing Bridge and Mahjong with friends and neighbors.

She will be remembered for her incredible heart, which she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved each of them- and if you knew her, you knew it. When her time came, she carried herself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before her. She will be missed dearly.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ADA at www.diabetes.org/donate

Guestbook

  1. We have been friends for 40 years. Our children grew up together, we played bridge, joined a gourmet dinner club, served on our homeowners board together and spent every New Year’s Eve together. A piece of me is now missing.
