David Kent Jackson, 80, passed away on May 12, 2012 following a long illness.

Born in Atlanta and raised in NC, he graduated from UNC and worked in radio and TV at WTOB. He joined the Army where he was a radar instructor, later working for Raytheon providing radar training to the military. Moving his family to Virginia in 1962, he worked for the Marine Corps in the Telecommunications Division (HQMC/CCT) administering training programs and helped expand the school for communications electronics at MCB Quantico. He received the highest commendation honoring him for 29 years of dedicated & faithful civil service. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Ann; son, Eric (Donna), grandchildren, Emily sister, Jobie (Sam); niece, Jennifer; nephew, Chris; brother, Bob & niece Cate.

Funeral services will be held at Ft. Myer Memorial Chapel, June 11, 2012 at 3:00 PM with inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to Heartland Hospice.
