David Lee Booth, beloved father and friend, passed away on December 18, 2025, at Emerson Hospital in Concord, Massachusetts, surrounded by family after a brief illness. He was 94 years old.

David was born on February 9, 1931, in Huntington, West Virginia, to Inez Lea Robertson and Melvin Adam Booth. After graduating from high school, David enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Radio Technician aboard Navy minesweepers. Following his military service, he attended Marshall University and Ohio State University, earning his degree in Electrical Engineering.

David’s fascination with radios and radio communications began at a young age. He often built radios alongside fellow amateur radio enthusiasts. This lifelong passion led him to a distinguished career with the Bell System, AT&T, C&P Telephone, and Verizon, where he specialized in designing and managing radio transmission systems. He was also a proud life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

He loved weekends and holidays spent at the lake with family, enjoyed countless DIY projects, loved traveling in his RV, and treasured time spent relaxing on the porch with loved ones.

David met the love of his life, Helen Frances Taylor, at the Methodist Church in Huntington, West Virginia. They shared 44 wonderful years of marriage. A lifelong learner and skilled woodworker, David crafted much of the furniture in his home and built three houses for his family. He also served his community as a volunteer Chaplain with the Orlean Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department in Orlean, Virginia.

David was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard Booth, and his wife, Helen T. Booth. He is survived by his two children, Mark and Virginia, three grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Lutheran Church of the Savior, 426 Davis Road in Bedford, MA, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow in Virginia on January 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Old Leeds Cemetery, located directly across from Leeds Episcopal Church at 4332 Leeds Manor Road, Markham, VA 22643.
