David Martin Berman

david berman
Suddenly on April 23, 2016 while at the golf course doing what he loved best.

Born on November 30, 1952 in Washington DC, David turned down the opportunity to play professional golf during his younger days. He worked as an independent insurance broker and often said he got into insurance sales so he could have a career where he could work while playing golf. When not on the golf course, David would often be found washing his beloved red Corvette or honoring his title as "The Grill Master" with barbeque sauce frequently on his clothing.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Fiona MacDonald Berman; loving daughters, Cassandra M. Berman and Rebecca D. Berman (fianc Michael G. Verga); brother, Robert (Barbara) Berman; nieces, Christina and Chelsey Berman; and faithful companion, Gizmo.

Family and friends may gather on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Money & King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA 22180 where a memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park.

Guestbook

  1. My deepest condolences Fiona, Cassandra, Rebecca and Michael. May faith, hope, love, and a lot of cherish memories help you during this difficult time. I hope someone was yelling “FORE” when Dave hit heaven’s gate because Dave had a full, wonderful life to celebrate! R I P, my friend!

  2. Fiona, Cassie and Becky. I knew your Dad only thru the eyes of your Mom. We worked together for many years, car pooled while working at the Navy and we had many hours of conversation about David and you girls. I remember when each of you were born. I know this about David. He was a good person – he was romantic (after all, an engagement ring the size of the Hope Diamond!) – he was a hard worker and quite smart. He loved his family more than life itself — I could tell that by the stories. While I never met him in person, I feel like I had thru your Mom. In time the rawness of the pain will soften and you guys will spend the rest of your lives remembering, laughing and sharing the love he has left with you. He will never be gone from your lives. God Bless all of you.

  3. Fiona, Cassie and Becky We are so sorry for your loss. Our family is keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers.

  15. Fiona, Cassie, Beckie & Michael, Words are just not enough to express the sorrow we feel for you. Dave was the most warm, understanding and genuine fellow one could know. Dave was a man’s man, full of passion for his family, his golf, and his grilling. It was impossible not to enjoy yourself when being around him. Even though we only knew Dave for 8 years, the enjoyment & laughter he brought us will last us a lifetime. Last summer at the Jersey Shore sharing family time, fox news 24/7 and golfing each and every day are memories we will truly cherish. We can honestly say we love him and what more can one want out of life then to be loved, he certainly was. Bless you Dave.

  16. Dear Fiona, Beckie and Cassie-We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss that you and your family have encountered. David was a wonderful person. Our hearts go out to you and may our prayerful thoughts bring you comfort. Ferrer Family
