David Mikal Watnee passed away suddenly on the morning of Tuesday, November 17, 2015. He leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Donna and their two sons, Christopher and Clinton. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Sarah, and two beautiful grandsons, Henry and James. Dear Watnee Family, Please accept my sincere sympathy for your families loss. I had the pleasure of working with Dave at Lake Braddock and he was a wonderful guy. I will especially miss his wonderful since of humor and his quick wit. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers and you will take comfort knowing he will be greatly missed.
My deepest sympathies to the Watnee clan. I knew all the kids and still remember the first day Dale and David showed up to our bus stop in Kings Park. Playing basketball, hanging out are fond memories for me. Later when Dale and David returned to the area to go to GMU I was fortunate to meet his future wife. Such a happy couple as their years together confirms. “Hands” was always the cerebral one of the family as his career attests. He was affable, dedicated to his family and only very people can claim to have no enemies but I know Dave could. God bless the Watnee family and my prayers are with you and yours but know that Dave awaits the deserving in heaven.

Dale, so sorry to hear about Dave. I have a lot of fond memories from basketball with you two. One I put on facebook abut Dave scoring the 100th point when Coach McCool was trying to stop us from scoring that much. Another not so fond memorey is when he broke my nose. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Bob
My Sympathy to all the family. I worked at the Leis center when David worked there and he was always a cheerful, caring person.
My sympathies to Dave’s family. I enjoyed working with Dave through our years together at FCPS. He was a kind, intelligent and very good man.
Dave, I will never forget the fun times we had along with our dear friend Dave Tremaine at Falls Church Academy…working to solve those file maker pro glitches and the laughter! You left us early but the memories will stay forever in our hearts! May your family find comfort and peace in their memories of you as well! Sad day for all of us! May you rest in peace! Yanna
My thoughts are with the Watnee family, I will always remember working with Dave and the enjoyable times we had in the CTE office in FCPS. I will miss him. Take comfort that he made a deep impact on all that where fortunate to know him and he will be remembered by many.
Dave was only known from a distance but was one of the good guys. I saw how much his students and his basketball payers listened and respected him. A real loss. My prayers go out to the family.
