  6. He was the greatest, when I moved from the O&H Office in MPls. to DC and had my first meeting with Melincoff I was shocked and delighted, no formal meeting just sat at the side of his desk(in the War Room (with Hope also in the room) he looking down on all the papers about an inch up to his face I didn’t know what to think or say. Years later I asked him why he just didn’t get glasses and he said I have some they don’t help in reading, I said ever heard about bi-foculs and he said what ever but it was clear he knew what he was doing or for sure he wasn’t going to change what he was doing. He got to be a very dear friend to me and I have thought of him often over the years, a man of not many words but the words he said really mattered. I just want you Eileen and family to know my prayers go out to you in your loss, he was a great guy.God blessed me into allowing me to know him. All my love Cathy Adams

  7. Dear Eileen, I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Melincoff’s passing. I remember when I first came to O’Connor & Hannan, with my bosses David Hill and Audrey Rasmussen, I used to say he was so cool! There was something about him, maybe that signature “swagger” of his or the ever present cigarette in his hand (before the DC no smoking law went into effect of course!). 🙂 I have many fond memories of O’Connor & Hannan and he is one of them. My thoughts are with you all and I pray that the Lord will bless you and comfort you and give you that which you need during this most difficult time. Love, Always in Christ,

  8. I am so sorry to hear of David’s passing. I was working on my family tree and this came up. You never met me but David always spent Christmas with us when I was young. One year he even convinced me that he heard Santa on the roof. His mother was my great aunt. His parents were my godparents. I spent a lot of time at “tooth acres” on Buzzards Bay. My maiden name was Nelson and I lived in Brockton. I last saw David in the ’60’s and did speak to him in the ’70’s. I also learned tonight that his father’s first name was Abram = I just knew him as Uncle Eddie. No wonder David was a Red Sox fan. His parents use to own an apartment on the Fenway where we spent many Thanksgivings. Again, so sorry for your loss.
