We offer you our heartfelt sympathy and want you to know how much we loved David and how grateful we were to have him in our lives. He was such a kind and supportive friend to our family. As my parents faced infirmities of aging, Dave was often our “go to” guy. We hold you all tenderly in our thoughts and prayers. ~ Thelma Haslam, Carla and Dave Herkner
Steve, Mike & Doug So many warm memories involving your dad: Vienna baseball: giving up weekends to help my dad build an addition on our house:teaching me the word “dern”: his warm smile and easy laugh….a good and decent man God Bless Dave Wallace
Sue and I were blessed to have known and been related to Uncle David. As young newlywed, service folks,(USAF), we would stop in and visit my uncle and family while on leave, and always be warmly welcomed, fed and housed. Too many fond memories to list. Much love, many prayers.
David was one of my childhood heroes. He, Charles (Bub), and Jasper (Jap) would take me rabbit hunting with them on Thanksgiving day at Grand Ma and Grand Pa’s. I am blessed by having been born into such a family. Thank God.
How fortunate I am to have had an uncle like David. He was truly one of the greats from the Greatest Generation. Well all miss his entertaining yarns, ready laugh, and warm and generous hospitality. Til we meet again, Uncle David . . .
To Barbara and Family: Rick & I send our deepest sympathy to the family & friends of David. David was a wonderful husband, father and friend. He was well liked and highly respected by all who knew him. I always looked forward to seeing him and Barbara in church on Sunday and will miss his smiling face. I’m happy I had the chance to see him one last time before his passing… May he now rest in peace in the arms of our Lord and may that peace be with you all now and always. Love, Vivian & Richard Ginder
Dave was a true friend to our Family in many ways. He coached my father in how to contruct an additon at the back of our house where i and my 3 brothers grew up. I am proud to have know him and his sons a few of which I had the opportunity to engage in the game of baseball. I know he lived a good life and sorry to hear as Dave would say that “dern old age caught up with him”.
He once told me that I was one of the finest ball players he’d ever seen. High praise from one of the finest men I’ve ever met. Many of my favorite memories involve his association with my family and Vienna baseball. My condolences to Steve, Mike and Doug. I feel honored to have known your Dad.
Dear Mike, Please accept our deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved father. There is no doubt that his passing will be a great loss to all who knew him. The loss of a loved one is always so difficult. Our family will hold memories of sharing baseball enjoyment together. Thanks for the memories. The Franklin and Tuthill family.
Wishing your family lots of peace and prayer through this hard time.
