HE WAS A GREAT FRIEND! WE SHARED MANY GOLF GAMES,( THE DAY HE SHOT HIS AGE {81})AND LOTS OF DINNERS AND STORIES. WE HAVE WONDERFUL MEMORIES WE WILL ALWAYS CHERISH.OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL.JACK & ALTA
We are so gratful for knowing Matt. He had deep rooted heritage in Michigan and especially Ortonville. Our relationship with him developed when he rekindled a friendship of some sixty years past. Because of his deep convictions for family, friends, and long time acquaintances, The Turnbull family from Michigan are richer for his character. It was Ron’s and my pleasure to meet with him, his son Steve and sister Katherine on Oct 4, this year. He asked about our grandchildren, for even those children touched him. They too will remember his kindness. Thank you for sharing your Dad with all of us. Ronald and Janice Turnbull and our family and Ralph Turnbull and his boys, Tim and Robert. God’s blessings with each of you.
Uncle Matt was a great uncle and the life of many Kruchko reunions, we will miss him and remember him often in particular everytime we pass the Kruchko farm. We extend our love and deepest sympathy to our cousins John, Jim, Steve and their families. We are sorry we are unable to attend the funeral. We know he is now home with his beloved Caroline. Lots of Love, Georgeanna and Ernie
Jeannette Tillotson’s family sends their sincere sympathy. We are very sorry to hear of Mr. Kruchko’s passing. Mom always spoke highly of Mr. Kruchko and his wife Caroline – from the days when she worked for him at Vega and in the following years. He was loved and appreciated by many. The Kruchko family is in our thoughts and prayers. With sympathy, the Tillotson family.
To : John, Steve and Jim We are saddened by the passing of your Father. Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss. Your Dad was one of the last remaining giants who raised a wonderful family with your Mother, contributed to the community and country by educating them and encouraging them to serve. Matt started a business and also took many financial risks. He succeeded after much sacrificing and tireless effort to build a company which provided employment for several hundred local people for over twenty five years. His was a life well lived. He loved God and His Church and lived his faith. Let us rejoice that he is with the Lord and also his departed family. We humbly seek his prayers on our behalf.
Dear John, Steve and Jim, The Bergman Family sends their sincere sympathy. We are so grateful to have known Matt, we loved his storytelling, his wit and all the other interesting conversations we have had over the years. He will be missed in the neighborhood Susanne and Christer Hans, Christian and Fredrik
John, Steve & Jim & families, My wife Liisa & I were saddened when we read of Matts death. As one of his project engineers at Vega for 21 years, we worked closely on many projects. I always admired his experience, knowledge leadership and honest concern for the Vega employees and their families. Matt also had a great sense of humor as everyone knows, which was on display often and especially at business luncheons and dinners along the way. We hadn’t seen him in a long while until around 2 weeks ago when by chance we saw him at lunch up in Reston. We were not sure it was him until we saw him cracking jokes with his friends. We are very grateful for the opportunity to speak with him then and catch up on families and crack a few jokes.

Dear John, Steve, Jim, and Families, As our neighbor for 30 years, it is hard to believe that Matt has left us. How he loved swapping jibes about the yard, the house, golf, military, etc. but he helped us in so many ways and provided comfort when we needed it. We appreciated his wit and his concern for others. Few men can boast a similar list of accomplishments during their lifetime. We respected and loved him and will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, his family, of which he was so proud.
What a wonderful life to celebrate. It was a challenge and great fun to work with your father. For me, his great compassion for “the little person” was his finest characteristic. How blessed we are to have worked and shared friendship with a man of deep conviction and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He and your dear mother set a sterling example for husbands and wives. God bless Matt and his beautiful family.
Our heart goes out to the family of Matt. He was such a great person to know. My girls and I enjoyed spending time with Matt and listening to the stories of his childhood. And how he spent time with my relatives. He will be greatly missed. Laurie, Mike Aubre, Emily and Megan
Matt will be missed by my family. Bob, Tim and I had been planning on visiting Matt this fall in DC, but my health changed suddenly as I had a heart problem in August. Please accept our condolences to the family of Matt.
I’m so sorry to hear of Matt’s passing. He was one of the spunkiest people I’ve ever met! So excited to get out and explore the world and spend every day to the fullest (and take pictures all along the way!). My sincere condolences to go out to his family… he was so proud of all of you.
I remember Matt from the 60’s, where he and Caroline were raising John, Jim, and Steve. They lived on a street filled with kids, about 40. Matt helped by getting permission to use some adjoining land to clear a baseball diamond and erect a backstop. He designed and constructed a cantilevered basketball net in the cul de sac. I remember watching TV in his living room when a word, unknown to him popped up on the TV. The word was eschew and he looked it up in the dictionary. He said it meant to shun. How his wife Caroline put up with the neighborhood kids, I don’t know. Matt was a perfectionist. He put zoysia plugs in the lawn. After one year the lawn looked like a golf green. They had a little sheltie who would terrorize the neighborhood cars as they drove by the house, but would never step in the street.
