Of Oakton, VA passed away peacefully on April 10, 2015 after a valiant battle with lung cancer at Virginia Hospital Center. Beloved husband of Marie J. Rodgers; father of Kenneth Wayne Rodgers, Sr. (Susan) and the late Deborah Lorraine Rodgers; step-father of Christopher O'Connor (Bill Mott) and Kevin O'Connor (Karen); and Papa to Kenneth, Jr., Joseph, Christopher, Lauren and Ryan. Denny was an avid bowler, a fan of the Nationals and the Redskins and a baseball coach. He loved fishing and his Cocker Spaniels. Denny was a dedicated employee of Washington Gas for 35 years. Family and friends are invited to Denny's Life Celebration at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave, Vienna, VA on Tuesday, April 14 from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 7500 St. Philips Ct., Falls Church, VA on Wednesday, April 15 at 1 PM. Interment National Memorial Park. Denny .. I’ve known Denny sine we were teenagers. He’s always been a kind and gentle guy. His heart was huge in taking and caring for his senior cocker spaniels. I’m so grateful to have been part of his life in his later years at our reunions. God Bless You My Friend.

Denny, I’ve known you since you moved into Treebrooke and decided to be on the board. Your dedication to the community you live in and your generous spirit in helping others is inspirational! I’ll never forget the emergency calls on a weekend night, and you telling me to stay out of trouble! Sending prayers for Marie and the family during this time.

My sincere condolences to the Rodgers family…I worked with Denny at Washington Gas for years and he was such a great guy…funny and easy to talk to. He surely will be missed…RIP Denny.
