Diana (Gaitán) Vegas, 80, of Centreville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025. She was born on May 29, 1945, in Bogotá, Colombia, to the late Luis Alberto Gaitán and Virginia Federspiel Gaitán. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Virgil Lanning.

Dear Monica, Alex, Nicole, Adrian, Sabrina, and Pablo & Favio and families,
Obi and I are sending you all of our love from Florida, and our condolences on the loss of your mother / grandmother. She raised you well, Monica, and in turn you and your family took such good care of her in these last years. Between her kids and grandkids, she had so much to be proud of. May her memory always be a blessing.
Love,
Mira Tanna and family
Thank you, Mira — I know you know how difficult it is to watch a parent deteriorate, and yet it is also wonderful to have the time with them that you have. You were a wonderful daughter to your mother as well. Our memories of our mothers will remain with us always.
Love,
Monica
