Diane’s friendship has always been a very special thing for me and I am so grateful to have had that. She was a very special person and probably the most caring, encouraging and certainly interesting friend I have had. Our conversations were never dull and our only problem was ending our visits so one of us would’t be terribly late for something. We could never manage to keep it short. She and I have shared many things together including loss of mothers and marriages and of course health issues. Diane, I will miss you dearly
We will always remember her cheerful and positive outlook on life even when she was in her more challenging times…she was an inspiration to us all at Pho Cyclo! As much as we will miss her and her smiles, Diane is truly in a better place. Rest in peace.. All of us at Pho Cyclo will truly miss you!
Diane has been such a dear friend for over a decade. Despite the challenges life dealt her she maintained a positive outlook, and genuinely cared about other people. Talking with Diane was comforting, encouraging and inspiring. She was so supportive of me and my baby, cooing over him the first time she visited him and relishing in baby stories. She nurtured me and truly brought joy to others.
Dear Max and family, We are thinking about you all and praying for your peace during this time of loss. We pray that God surround you with wonderful memories of Diane for all your days to come. Blessings, Don (Erwin)and Harriet
My prayers and thoughts are with you, Max, during your loss. Larry Hargett

Dear Hughey Family: We have very fond memories still of Diane in Tokyo. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
My deepest sympathy to all of you…. Diane was a lovely & classy lady and I always enjoyed seeing & chatting with her when she came to visit in Columbus…be it the fun times in the Houghton-Joyce backyard, at special dinners, the Whetstone Rose Festival, etc. She always had a good spirit about her even going through all the tough years of her illness. Am thinking of you all…. Melba
Max and Family, I don’t know if you remember me, but I was a classmate of yours Max. I just received an email from Brenda about the passing of your wife, Diane. Please accept our condolences. We are so sorry for your loss. Bill & LaVerne(Randall) Frietze

To The Family of Diane Hughey I was saddened on hearing of Diane’s passing, but immediately I thought of the Harp. Now I see her with all the other angels…playing the heavenly music. I will remember her as a fun loving and courageous person. Always a glint in the eye and a smile. You are all remembered in my thoughts and prayers.
Rest now in peace and comfort sweet Diane. Virginia Mermel who has preceded you, and John Mermel who will follow, look forward to being with you in paradise.
We all admired the spirit and strength with which Diane met all that came her way. Know that she will be much missed. Gretchen and Mike
