Donald Frey Rives, 91, of Vienna, Virginia passed away on December 23, 2019. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 29th, 2019, 1:30 pm at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 West Maple Avenue, Vienna, Virginia with burial immediately following at Flint Hill Cemetery, 10025 Courthouse Road, Vienna, Virginia 22181
Donald was born in Washington, DC to Rousseau and Madeline Rives on September 30, 1928. He served 6 years in the United States Air Force and had a long and distinguished career as a Labor Relations Specialist in the Drug Enforcement Administration. He retired in 1985 after 34 years of service. He was an avid golfer, model train enthusiast, and coached many of his children’s sports teams.
Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Joyce, his 3 children, Jerri Tully (Jim), Randy Rives, Tammy Moore (Alex), 8 granddaughters, Jennifer Beckner (Jason), Melanie Rothrock (Chris), Casey Turner-Rives (Rachel), Kira Fairchild (Blaine), Dori Dunkle (Shannon), Caitlin Clarke, Emma Moore, Madeline Moore and 6 great-grandchildren, Warren, Lila, Logan, Jackson, Trentyn and Landen.
